《爸妈不在家》可以是一部成长片，也是一部父母和子女的沟通教育片，并且不乏社会现实意义。电影里，关于人与人的心灵沟通，细致入微，并不会因为孩童视角的存在，导致技巧表现的降格，过于用力。叛逆和早熟给家乐带来了不大一样的少年形象，他的不舍，放在台湾、香港或者内地观众的眼里，都是可以感受得到。毕竟，很少有电影能这么专注地看待一个孩子的成长，一个家庭的重整，一个社会的细小零碎。所以，作为陈哲艺的长片首作，能有这样明晰的想法、过人的定力，那真是一件不容易的事
