People are avaricious, once can't deny it so just accept it. some strike for fame,some strike for money and all of us strike for life. This is no harm and we should have the courage and spirit to fight. "Without land, man is nothing." So simply put down things that drag you backwards on the line and start racing!
Challenge always exists and that's way life prolongs. strike for something and you could get rid of the emptyness and loneliness. At times it might be considered as escapism but it is the right choice to focus on things worth fighting.
