The wider world that perceives fashion as sometimes a frivolity that should be done away with in the face of social upheavals and problems that are enormous. The point is, in fact, fashion is the armor to survive the reality of everyday life. I don’t think you can do away with it. It would be like doing away with civilization.
Don’t touch money. It’s the worst thing you can do.
Never to be owned. Money is the cheapest thing. Liberty and freedom is the most expensive.
Damn you New Yorkers, you are all so extravagant and wasteful.
We are all blank canvases, when we get up in the morning, and we paint ourselves. Sometimes we are surreal, sometimes we are impressionistic, sometimes we are modern. It just depends on the day.
New York is about status. That's all it's about. This is not a pleasant city to live in, aside from the fact that there are a lot of people here who are ambitious. People are very pushy socially in New York, but they don't wave a flag. They just move in the right direction.
