It seems like it's one of those road movies, but it is more than that. The story is well written, it gives a lot of time for the characters to develop emotionally, and Rachel McAdams's very well acted in this one, it's much better than her performance in "the notebook". I heard she participated in a boot camp just for preparing for this roll.
In most of the parts, the movie is serious, also it has some funny moments, which made me laugh out loud.
But just the ending, I haven't thought through about the ending, why did Neil Burger put off an ending like nothing had happened? They just all went back to the army.
I really wished something more could happen on Rachel's character.
It is of course not a great movie, but worth viewing.
