Plot Summary:Carmela lives in the central Italian backcountry, right over the mountains. She is 92, bitter and surly, just like the skies above her land. After a friend's meager funeral, Carmela decides to leave this world with dignity. Together with her in this final journey there is Martina, Carmela's 9-year-old granddaughter. The little girl quietly follows her, clearly fascinated by such an enigmatic and sympathetic figure.
